Colin Webb

Assoc. Principal Viola | Marketing Director

Colin was born and raised in Eldersburg, Maryland and began learning the viola—his first instrument—at age 11. Since then, he has studied privately with Karen Ritscher, Carol Rodland, and Maria Lambros, among others. As an avid chamber musician and orchestral musician, he has worked with members of The Ying Quartet, the JACK Quartet, the Jupiter String Quartet, the Muir String Quartet, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, the Handel and Haydn Society, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Most recently, he has been a rotating principal with the Boston University Symphony Orchestras and an active player in the Boston Chamber Symphony, the Freisinger Chamber Orchestra, and the Marsh Chapel Collegium. Over the summers, he has taken part in the Alba Music Festival (Italy), The Castleman Quartet Program-East (New York), the International Viola Congress, the Amadeus Orchestra (England), and the Internationale Stichting Masterclass Apeldoorn (The Netherlands).

Colin holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester and a Master of Music degree from the Boston University School of Music. When not engaged in musical activities, he enjoys reading and a good cup of coffee.
