One of Baltimore's premiere new music ensembles.

Baltimore-based blog Aural States recently described the SONAR new music ensemble as a "smart, quirky new music group that takes risks and offers rich rewards... SONAR’s players hypnotize us toward a harmonic whole."

Founded by Colin Sorgi in 2007, SONAR burst onto Baltimore's bustling new music scene and quickly established itself as a force to be reckoned with.

Formerly in residence at the Walters Art Museum's Graham Auditorium, the SONAR new music ensemble has presented concerts firmly focused on music of the past 75 years. Collaborations have been formed with members of Alarm Will Sound, the Hubble Space Telescope Institute and, within their first two years alone, SONAR has premiered over 15 new works.
