Wanlu Ma


Wanlu Ma is quickly building a reputation across the globe as a extraordinarily versatile musician. Dedicated to orchestral, chamber, and solo percussion music, she has performed with the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, Aspen Music Festival and School Orchestra, Peabody Symphony Orchestra, Peabody Percussion Group, and has appeared as a marimba soloist on the Peabody Thursday Noon Series. In 2009 she won 3rd place in The First Percussion Competition of China. She holds a bachelor of music performance from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University where she studied with Robert Van Sice. She is currently pursuing her masters of music performance at Cleveland State University under the tutelage of Tom Freer.

Symphony Number One is Baltimore's Newes Chamber Orchestra, devoted to substantial works by emerging composers.
