Kika Wright

Honduran-born bassoonist Kika Wright is an energetic and versatile performer. In May, Ms. Wright completed the Artist Diploma program at the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada. She was the recipient of the Ihnatowycz Emerging Artist Scholarship.
Wright participated in the Performance Residency Program at Carnegie Mellon University, and can be heard performing with various groups on WQED FM’s Performance in Pittsburgh series.
Kika has performed with Erie Chamber Orchestra, Toronto Sinfonietta, the Renova Music Festival and the Altoona Symphony Orchestra (contrabassoon). She joined OvreArts Sinfonia as principal bassoon in their inaugural season and performs regularly with the Incidental Chamber Players.
Ms. Wright has participated in summer music programs in the US and Canada, including the Hot Springs Music Festival, Banff Music Centre, Eastern Music Festival, and the Aspen Music Festival and School. Learn more: kikawright.com.
