What a summer it’s been. Here are a few updates in case you missed them.

 

  • Ben Goldberg was named Symphony Number One’s second Composer-in-Residence.
  • In July, SNO completed it’s summer funding campaign and raised more than $13,000. Thanks to all of our supporters for their tremendous generosity! 
  • We've had a busy summer of performances and had a great time at our first Artscape.
  • Our fourth Call for Scores is underway!  Composers, send in those scores. Learn more: Call for Scores 4.
  • SNO has been invited to perform at TEDxMidAtlantic 2017. Read the announcement.
  • Brian Tracey was named our executive director earlier this summer and was interviewed by the Baltimore Business Journal (paywall).

Symphony Number One

SYMPHONY NUMBER ONE is Baltimore's newest chamber orchestra, dedicated to performing and promoting substantial works by emerging composers. Led by Music Director Jordan Randall Smith, SYMPHONY NUMBER ONE brings together great composers of the past, virtuoso performers of the present, and the leading compositional voices of the future.
